What’s happening at the UI this week?

Happy dead week vandals! With finals looming this is a stressful time of year, but remember that the end of the semester is just around the corner! Amidst all the studying and stress, don’t forget to take some time to enjoy the last few weeks of the semester and spend time with friends! Check out these exciting events and activities happening on campus this week to de-stress and have fun! 

Laughter Yoga 

Take a break for yoga and laughter this Wednesday from 12-12:30 p.m. in SRC room 103. Carving out just a half-hour to prioritize your mental and physical well-being can make all the difference! 

Get Crafty! 

This week’s Make it at the MILL is happening on Wednesday from 12:30-4 p.m. in the Library MILL. This week is for upcoming graduates, there will be all the materials and instruction needed to decorate graduation caps! All materials are free, and the workshop is open to all graduates! 

Lavender Lunch 

Students are invited to join the Women’s Center for a free lunch this Thursday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Memorial Gym room 109. All are welcome for an hour of free food, fun with friends, and a chance to learn more about the Women’s Center! 

Neon Night 

De-stress from finals at the Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park this Friday from 7-9 p.m. Everyone is invited to bounce their stress away before finals, and there will be a Vandal Trolley provided for those who need transportation to the event. This is a free event, but registration is required and can be found here. 

“Orlando”  

The Theater department’s newest show. “Orlando” has a second weekend of shows in the Forge Theater. This exciting adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s classic novel will have shows on Friday and Saturday from 7:30-9:15 p.m. and Sunday from 2-3:35 p.m. Tickets are free for UI students and can be purchased here

Bee a Volunteer 

Give back to your campus this Saturday by volunteering with the Student Sustainability Cooperative to help create a bee garden! From 9-11 a.m. at the Gibb Hall Courtyard students can work to prepare the future site of the Gib Hall Mason Bee Garden. Those interested can sign up here to volunteer.  

Get Dirty! 

Another opportunity to get outside and volunteer this week is on Saturday from 9 a.m. – noon with the annual Get Dirty event. Students can meet in the University Steam Plant Parking lot to join the Student Sustainability Cooperative and the Paradise Audubon Society to help plant native trees, shrubs, grasses and wildflowers on campus!
