This semester’s Parent and Family Weekend, hosted by the University of Idaho Student Alumni Relations Board, is jam-packed with fun activities and events for students to attend with their parents and families. There will be events for everyone over Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13.

Family Paint Night

On Friday, students and families can enjoy a tumbler painting event from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Hays Hall Alumni Lounge. The event and materials are free for everyone, so stop by to create a colorful tumbler and make lasting memories!

Parents and Plants

There will be two sessions of this fun and interactive event on Saturday—Vandal students and families can join SARB at the Sixth Street Greenhouse at either 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. to use their green thumbs and connect with other Vandal families. This year, parents and students can work together to pot beautiful plant baskets to take home. The cost is $20 per basket, and no pre-registration is required.

Starving Artists Sale

Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the ISUB, the Art and Design Grad Students will be hosting an art fair! There will be a wide variety of art available to purchase from students, staff, faculty and community members.

Arboretum Tour

Families and students can get out in nature and explore the beautiful UI Arboretum on Saturday on the Arboretum walking tour! The tour will begin at 11 a.m. and those interested in enjoying the spring weather and scenery are to meet at the North Gate of the Arboretum near the UI Golf Course.

Cornhole Tournament

Vandal families have a chance to compete against each other on Saturday with the Spring Vandal Family Weekend Cornhole Tournament. The competition starts at 11 a.m. on the Tower lawn and the cost is $15 per team to play. See if your family has what it takes to win!

CALS Wine and Cheese Tasting

Join the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences in the 1912 Center on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. to enjoy an afternoon of delicious wine and cheese tasting. The cost is $25 per person, or $15 for non-alcoholic beverages only. All proceeds support CALS student clubs and activities.

Dueling Pianos

From 5:30–8:30 p.m. on Saturday, students and families are invited to enjoy an exciting night that includes a dueling pianos performance and a meal. The event costs $40 per person to attend and will be held in the Pitman Center International Ballroom. Families can sign up for the event here.
