The LMAS manages to keep an important part of a project alive during COVID-19

For as long as the Latah County Fair has been around, the Latah County 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) have put on an animal sale. FFA, a youth organization, specializes in agricultural education in raising livestock and business skills. Latah County 4-H is similar but teaches leadership skills, healthy living, science, technology while remaining close to agricultural and rural roots. This sale allows members of 4-H and FFA to show off their hard work in raising animals.

Movie theaters have been feeling the negative effects of COVID-19.While some have opened, many are still closed due to concerns. One of those theaters, the Kenworthy Performing Arts Center has been a part of the Moscow community since it opened in 1926.

How the Moscow Public Library handled COVID-19

The Moscow Public Library was hit hard by COVID-19. On March 18, all locations of the Latah County Library District closed due to COVID-19 concerns. Library District Director Chris Sokol said they started shutting down after seeing that other businesses were in response to the pandemic. The American Library Association recommended that libraries close due to COVID-19 concerns. This is what led to the Moscow Public Library, along with the other six libraries apart of the Latah County Library District, to close their doors. However, they kept their staff employed and developed strategies to continue providing for their patrons.

The University of Idaho has mellowed out this fall semester compared to recent academic years. Events have been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns and the fall sport season has been moved to the spring. The absence of fall football games and UI Marching Band performances for the masses have put semester activities in perspective. However, the band will not let the virus stop them from being creative.
