The 34th annual Dancers, Drummers, Dreamers performance returns to the Hartung Theater on March 20-22. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m., with the additional performance on March 22 beginning at 2 p.m.

DDD is a fun, high-energy collaboration between the Dance Program and the Lionel Hampton School of Music.

Tickets range from $10-$16.50 and can be purchased at uitickets.com. If you can’t make it to this event but still want to experience the wonderful talent of the student performers, there will be a stream of the event available March 24-30. Tickets for the virtual event are $10.

This year’s performance will include a new ensemble of dance work by Juan Carlos Claudio, also performed by UI’s Dance Ensemble.

The innovation of students is key for this performance, according to Dance Program Coordinator Melanie Meenan.

“New works by student dance choreographers and music composers is at the heart of this annual production,” Meenan said in a press release. “It’s exciting to witness the growth, dedication and creativity of our students in this music and dance community favorite.”

DDD was founded by professors Emerita Diane Walker and Dan Bukvich in 1991. Featuring original choreography and music curated by UI students, this performance is a one-of-a-kind experience.
