What’s happening at UI this week?

Happy Monday, Vandals! There are quite a few fun events going on this week, which can be a good opportunity to put yourself out there, try new things and make new friends. You can take a small break from your usual routine and attend one or more of these fun events. 

Oppenheimer Ethics Symposium (Tuesday, March 25) 

Head over to the Vandal Ballroom in the Pitman Center from 5-6 p.m. to listen to the annual Oppenheimer Ethics Symposium. USA Today sports columnist Christine Brennan will be giving the keynote address. If you’re interested in journalism, ethics or women’s sports, this is the speech for you! Everyone is welcome and the event is completely free.  

Make it at the MILL: Hand Embroidery Basics (Wednesday, March 26) 

Join the crafty staff at the MILL in the library from 12:30- 4 p.m. to learn the delicate art of hand embroidery. This course is perfect for beginners, and you’ll learn the basic stitches and techniques necessary to create a wonderful design! All materials are provided. 

Ha Ha Palooza (Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28) 

Vandal Entertainment is bringing back their comedic event “Ha Ha Palooza” for all students to enjoy. It will be held in the Admin Auditorium from 7-9 p.m. on the first night, March 27. Attendees can experience the hilarious acts from comedians Tyler Korso, Ben Pamler and Leonard Outzta. On the second night, March 28, the event will be held in the International Ballroom in the Pitman Center. Attendees will get to experience the wonders of Sailesh the Hypnotist and laugh at a comedic act from Cody Woods.  

Holi Party (Friday, March 28) 

Get together with the Nepali Student Association and the International Student Organization at the Theophilus Tower from 3:30-5:30 p.m. to celebrate the Festival of Colors. Bring your friends and enjoy a fun experience with great music and snacks!
