Tuesday’s Faculty Senate meeting covered potential tuition increases and the addition of two new academic certificates.
The 2025-26 academic year may come with increases in tuition. These changes are intended to fund an anticipated $1.55 per hour change in employee compensation (CEC) for fee-funded units that are not covered by state general funds, as well as to accommodate for a portion of the impact of inflation. This increase may be adjusted should state-granted CEC funding change.
Regarding total tuition and fees, full-time undergraduate students are looking at a 5% increase for residents, a 1.6% increase for non-residents and a 5.3% increase for WUE students. Resident graduate students will see a 4.2% increase and non-residents a 1.5% increase.
These changes are still pending, and a final decision will be made by the Regents of the University in April.
Two undergraduate academic certificates were also proposed at the meeting. The certificates are UCC 513: Child Development Undergraduate Academic Certificate and UCC 581: Managing Facilities for Efficiency and Health Undergraduate Academic Certificate.
