ASUI is currently accepting applications for its spring elections. Open positions include president, vice president and seven senate seats. The submission deadline is Tuesday, March 25 and can be completed online or in person at the ASUI office, ISUB 301.
ASUI represents the interests of UI students to departments and administration, the Idaho State Board of Education and the Idaho Legislature. Additionally, ASUI helps provide funding to more than 200 student organizations.
Current ASUI President Marth Smith encourages students to get involved with ASUI as she was able to form lasting and important connections with other student legislators, work on projects that benefit the UI community and build a professional skill set.
“ASUI has undoubtedly been one of the highlights of my college experience,” Smith said. “ASUI provides opportunities that are hard to come by in undergrad, and I encourage anyone looking to get involved to apply.”
The election schedule is as follows:
· March 25- Submission deadline
· March 26- Mandatory candidate meeting
· March 31- Campaigning begins
· April 1 and 9- Candidate open forums
· April 14, Voting begins
· April 16 Voting and Campaigning Ends, Results Announced
