The flames of competition are rising in the kitchen of the University of Idaho’s cafeteria. They’re going to need to cook their hearts out and put forth their best culinary skills to take the title of best chef. Which Idaho university chef will come out on top?

Competition is brewing between our very own Chef Michael, Boise State University’s Chef Roland, and Idaho State University’s Chef Rob as the second annual Battle of the Chefs is coming. It’s set to take place on Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the UI Eatery, and it’s an event you don’t want to miss out on. Show your support for the hard-working UI chef, Michael, and cheer him on during the competition!

The cooking competition and filming will begin at 2 p.m. and the chefs will have until 4:30 p.m. to show off their skills. The live judge’s panel will begin then, and it can be watched in person at the Eatery or live streamed online at uidaho.edu/live.

The icing on the cake is that Food Network celebrity chef, Justin Warner, will be the co-host for this event and make an appearance on the judge’s panel.

Student voting and a station takeover will happen at 5 p.m. while supplies last, and finally, at 6:30 p.m., the winner from the judge’s panel and student voting will be announced.

Agribeef, Simplot and Spiceology will be providing food donations for this event.

You’ll want to show up and watch this battle in person, but in case you miss it, a final video, similar to a mock Food Network show, will be shared with each campus to ensure that everyone can join in on the fun and friendly competition between these chefs!
