The Vandals finished 10th out of 12 teams at the Oregon State Invitational in Corvallis on Oct. 8. They finished above Tarleton State and High Point, but struggled compared to teams of higher prominence.
It wasn’t all bad news for the team, as senior Dalton Dean took home his best performance of his collegiate career, placing tied for 8th place out of 72 participants after a 1-under finish.
Aside from Dean, Idaho didn’t have any top-25 finishers, which may be cause for concern moving forward this season.

The Vandals placed seventh out of 15 teams at the Stockton Pacific Invitational on Oct. 16.
The Vandals improved upon their prior performance by finishing at 2-under as a team. The Pacific Tigers, the host team, finished victorious at 23-under, followed by the San Diego Toreros at 21-under.
The top performers for the Vandals, Dalton Dean and Joe Sykes, tied for 28th out of 92 participants and finished 1-under. Samuel Johnson followed closely behind, tied for 34th at even-par.
Idaho has continued to improve throughout the fall tournaments and wrapped up fall play with a solid showing. The team will not play again until mid-February.
Through the first four tournaments, Sykes and Dean have been the clear best performers on the roster as they have consistently placed well in competitive invitationals.
