Friday outdoor homecoming activities postponed

Red-flag weather advisory causes changes to outdoor homecoming activities

Due to a red-flag weather advisory that is starting on Friday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m., outdoor homecoming activities are being adjusted and delayed. The state fire marshal revoked permits for the bonfire and fireworks for safety reasons.

Here are the changes to the outdoor homecoming activities, according to the University of Idaho events webpage:

-The bonfire is canceled.

-Fireworks will be rescheduled.

-Serpentine will be a shorter route. It will start at the Memorial Gym after the Vandal volleyball game, cross Rayburn Avenue to the practice football field and end at the ICCU Arena.

-Tap-the-Keg Oktoberfest is rescheduled for Parent and Family Weekend on Oct. 26. Those with tickets will receive email options, including refunds.

Activities for Saturday, Oct. 5 will proceed as planned.
