Vandals takeoff to Texas to face Abilene Christian

Idaho’s staunch defense will face off against Wildcats Wicked offense

Coach Eck celebrates after the Vandals’ defeat of UAlbany | John Keegan | Argonaut

Fresh off a 41-13 routing of UAlbany, the Vandals head to Texas to take on Abilene Christian on Saturday at 5 p.m. The #4 ranked Vandals, coming off a strong two-win performance, will look to keep their win streak going against the #19 Wildcats.

The Coach Eck led Vandals have performed far above expectations this season. After losing stars to the transfer portal and the draft last season, most expected the Vandals to struggle more than they have thus far. However, that is clearly not the case. Idaho’s defense leads the Big Sky Conference in sacks, and Jack Wagner led offense is 9 for 11 in the redzone.

The Wildcats will prove to be a challenge for the Vandals. Boasting a very close loss to Texas Tech, and two straight wins after that, the Vandals will have to contain Abilene’s extremely productive offense, which leads the United Athletic Conference in points-per-game, total points, and is tied for first in touchdowns scored.

The two teams will clash at 5 p.m. on ESPN+ this Saturday at 5 p.m. Tickets for the game are on sale here.
