The Vandals are back. After traveling to Oregon and Wyoming for their first two games of the season, the Vandals return to Moscow to take on the University at Albany on Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. Fans should remember UAlbany, as they were the ones to eliminate the UI from the FCS playoffs last season.

The Vandals have started the season hot, losing a close game to the #3 ranked FBS team in the nation, University of Oregon, and defeating the University of Wyoming, another FBS team. Unfortunately, this hot start has cost the Vandals their starting QB in Jack Layne, who broke his collarbone in the game against Oregon. Coach Eck has both backups, Jack Wagner and Nick Josifeck, in the game plan for Saturday as they wait for more results on the injury Wagner sustained in the game against Wyoming.

Idaho enters this game ranked #4 in the FCS; UAlbany sits at #17. The Great Danes will have their hands full trying to contain Vandal Edge Keyshawn James-Newby, who leads the entire FCS in sacks, with 5.  After already tying his sack from total the 2023-2024 season James-Newby also has two forced fumbles against two FBS opponents. Idaho’s defensive dynamo will look to keep his momentum and lead the UI defense to another great game in this playoff rematch from last season.

Tickets for the game are on sale here.
