Alt-pop duo brings high-energy performance to Vandals on Sept. 5

Get ready, Vandals! The high-energy alt-pop duo RAGS AND RICHES, made up of brothers Tanner and Peyton Whitt from Lexington, Kentucky, are bringing their electrifying sound to the University of Idaho on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. on the Tower Lawn. This is your chance to experience a live performance from one of the most exciting new acts in alt-pop right here on campus. 

Known for their energy and deep connection with audiences, RAGS AND RICHES have quickly become a fan favorite, racking up over 5 million career streams and 2.4 million video views. They’ve also earned recognition with a Josie Music Award for Pop Artist of the Year and two Lexington Music Awards, including Song of the Year. Whether it’s landing on top playlists like Apple Music’s New in Alternative with “Hello, Goodbye” or Spotify’s Nu Disco with “Flavor,” the duo continues to push the boundaries of the alt-pop genre. 

RAGS AND RICHES burst onto the music scene in 2019 with their debut single “Speed of Sound,” quickly capturing attention with over 925,000 streams and 525,000 video views. Since then, they’ve performed more than 300 shows across 40 states, sharing the stage with big names like Smash Mouth, Fitz & The Tantrums, and Judah & The Lion. With hits like their debut album “Always Gold,” which garnered 1.4 million streams in its first week and 2023 EP “I NEED A HOLIDAY” reaching 1.2 million streams upon release, the Whitt brothers are on a mission to inspire dreamers with their adrenalized anthems. 

Hosted by Vandal Entertainment, UI’s student-run entertainment board, this concert is just one of many events designed to bring top-tier entertainment to campus. So, grab your friends and head to the Tower Lawn on Sept. 5 to see RAGS AND RICHES live.
