This quick and easy recipe combines the beloved flavor of a bagel with the savory taste of pizza. The subtle garlic notes complement the slightly sweet cream cheese, creating a balanced flavor. It’s highly customizable and perfect for busy students since it takes almost no time to prepare.
Ingredients:
- 2 bagels of your choice
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- Pinch of salt
- Any additional toppings of your choice
- Pepperoni, bacon, ham, olives, etc.
Directions:
- Make eight triangular cuts halfway through each bagel (See picture above for reference).
- Remove every other piece of bread and fill the empty spaces with cream cheese.
- Melt the butter and add the garlic powder, oregano, and a pinch of salt. Mix until combined.
- Dip each bagel into the garlic butter or baste it on top. Transfer to a sheet pan, plate, or air fryer.
- Spoon extra garlic butter on top and add mozzarella and your choice of toppings.
- If using an oven or air fryer, bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until golden brown. If using a microwave, cook until the cheese is fully melted.
- Let cool for a few minutes, and enjoy!
