Around 2 p.m. today, Aug. 13, a “low-risk inmate walked away from a work-site on Moscow campus,” according to a Vandal alert sent close to 4 p.m.

According to the Vandal alert, the inmate is a 6’ 2”, 34-year-old white male who is “heavyset” and assumed to be wearing dark clothes after abandoning the red shirt he was required to wear during the community service.

This inmate was part of a group of inmates tasked with cleaning the dormitories on campus before most students moved in later in the week. After the inmate went missing, Moscow Police and the Latah County Sheriff were on site looking for the inmate.

The police looked for the inmate while students and their families moved into the dorms until the police cleared the area around the dorms at 4 pm. This case is ongoing, and students on campus should be vigilant about their surroundings.
