“Fly Me to the Moon” is a romantic/ comedy directed by Greg Berlanti and was released in 2024.

With an all-star cast, including Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum as the leads and Woody Harrelson and Ray Romano as supporting characters, the movie had high expectations that it lived up to.

“Fly Me to the Moon” is set in 1969, when a newly struggling NASA was trying to race to the moon. Due to a major failure that killed an entire crew, NASA no longer has the support or funding for its Apollo 11 mission.

Johansson plays Kelly Jones, who is well-known for her marketing skills. The government soon recruits her to help improve NASA’s image. While there, she meets Tatum’s character, Cole Davis, who disapproves of her strategies and how she markets the mission.

Kelly manages to win the Country’s favor and raises the needed funding. Still, the government soon realizes that this mission cannot fail, and drastic measures must be taken using Kelly’s skills, even at Cole’s and all of NASA’s expense.

In this witty romcom, Johansson and Tatum play compelling characters with complex storylines. The movie is two hours and 12 minutes but fast-paced and gripping throughout. You are transported back in time and get an in-depth look at a pivotal moment in history. The movie is well worth watching and a must-see for this summer.
