Summer is the Best Season

The opportunities for fun during the summertime are endless

Although the weather has been a bit dreary on the Palouse lately, summer is still slowly creeping up on us. Summer is arguably the best season for many reasons, some of which include never-ending possibilities for fun, gorgeous weather, soaking up some vitamin D from the sun’s rays, and so much more. No matter where you are this summer, you’re bound to find something fun to do. I’m the type to lay out on my lawn reading a good book in the sun, but Moscow has tons of other activities to do in the summertime. If you’re the outdoorsy type, hiking is a great option to get some exercise and spend time in nature. There’s also the trendy choice of swimming with friends or family to cool off from the hot weather. Swimming is a staple summer activity, and it must be on your summer to-do list.

What about the people who are taking summer classes and are still staying on campus? There is still plenty of fun to have if you’re doing summer classes. The Arboretum is a great substitute for a hike, and everyone knows that the campus comes to life when the weather is nice. Volleyball, spike ball, football, and sunbathing are just a few things you can do to reap the benefits and recreation of summertime while you’re still working away at your degree.

Not to mention, summertime fashion is at the peak of expressing your style and confidence. I always feel ten times more fashionable during summer than in any other season. I always find myself reverting to the safety of sweatshirts and leggings whenever the sun starts to go away. I never prioritize fashion over warmth, but there’s no need to jeopardize your style in the summertime. The warm weather allows you to wear your shorts, tank tops, crop tops, and muscle tees comfortably and freely.

Summer has everything from the soothing feeling of a cool summer breeze that sweeps by once the sun goes down to having barbeques and potlucks every weekend with friends and family. It’s truly the best of all the four seasons, and it will always remain at the No. 1 spot for me.
