This spin on traditional oatmeal is so delicious you’ll never want to eat oatmeal any other way! It’s perfect for a lazy morning breakfast, and it’s even better paired with crispy, buttery toast. You can easily tailor it to your liking, and it’ll be a super satisfying way to start your day.
Ingredients:
Oatmeal:
- 1 cup Irish oats
- 1 tablespoon butter
- A pinch of salt
- 3-4 cups boiling water
Sweet Cream:
- 1 pint heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup sugar (or to taste)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
- For the oatmeal: melt butter in a saucepan.
- Add Irish oats and roast until toasty brown.
- Remove from heat and add boiling water. Cook on low heat and stir every 5-10 minutes until the oats are soft.
- For the sweet cream: mix all ingredients together until the sugar dissolves.
- Serve over the hot oatmeal. Add your favorite type of jam for extra flavor. (Strawberry jam pairs very well with it.)
