Nicolas Umphenour and Skylar Meade have been taken into custody in Twin Falls County after a brief vehicle pursuit, according to a Boise Police Department press conference.
No shots were fired during the pursuit. The grey 2020 Honda Civic that the suspects escaped in was reported stolen and recovered in Leland, ID.
One of the three officers injured in yesterday’s shooting has been released from the hospital, while two remain in critical but stable condition.
Both Meade and Umphenour are suspects in the Boise hospital shooting and are possibly linked to two other homicides occurring over the past 24 hours. The homicides occurred in Nez Perce and Clearwater Counties. Meades’s handcuffs were recovered from the scene of one of the homicides. Further information about these incidents is currently unavailable.
Both Meade and Umphenour are members of the Aryan Knighthood, a white supremacist prison gang formed in the 1990s. Police found an overlap in prison housing that could possibly link Meade and Umphenour as associates and are investigating how Meade’s escape was coordinated.
The investigation into the two homicides is ongoing.
