If any students are graduating this spring, rest easy – the University of Idaho has worked to ensure a successful graduation. One of UI’s steps toward this accomplishment was hosting a fair for soon-to-be graduates.
On Tuesday, March 5, and Wednesday, March 6, UI put on the Moscow Spring GradFair.
This fair is aimed at students graduating in the spring of 2024, providing them with resources for purchasing graduation regalia, getting graduation photos, and repaying federal student loans.
UI was joined by event partners Jostens, Office of the Registrar, VandalStore, PayneWest, Vandal Voyagers, and the UI Alumni Association. The event also featured booths for UI Student Financial Aid Services, UI Career Services, and P1FCU.
Upon entering the fair, students were greeted by the Student Alumni Relations Board. At each booth, representatives sat armed with all the resources a graduating student could ever need.
At the Student Financial Aid Services (SFAS) stand, employees were offering hand-outs and advice about student loan repayments and exit counseling.
“This fair is just all about providing any graduating student with any resources they might need,” said one of SFAS booth attendees.
UI offers both exit counseling and a Better Education About Money for Students (BEAMS) Student Loan Repayment Workshop to allow graduating students to explore loan repayment tools and options. The workshop will take place on April 25 through a virtual meeting.
Nearby, the VandalStore booth was set up. Here, students were presented with various frames for their diplomas.
The GradFair also had multiple opportunities to win various giveaways, including an air fryer, a basket of wine bottles, and various Vandal prizes. As students walked through the booths, they got the chance to pick out many sweet treats and novelty items. -this is a fragment
