While the weather this week might be dreary, that doesn’t mean there is any shortage of exciting activities and events happening on the UI Moscow campus! Check out this list of fun activities to beat the winter blues.
Black History Month Keynote
This Wednesday 6-7:30 p.m. in the Pitman Center Borah theater, students can attend this year’s Black History Month keynote speaker. Boyah J. Farah, author of “America Made Me a Black Man” will be speaking on what it means to be African American in our current culture.
Women’s Center
This Thursday, students can join the Women’s Center for an afternoon of “Little Women Tea.” This event is from 3-5 p.m. in the Women’s Center in Memorial Gym room 109, and is a chance for students to enjoy tea, snacks and a conversation about gender stereotypes and the role women play in the film “Little Women.”
On Friday, the Women’s center will be hosting “Friday Crafternoon” from 12:30-2 p.m. in Memorial Gym room 109. This week’s craft is printmaking. Students can learn the art of making prints while enjoying a light lunch and time with friends.
Basketball Tailgate
This Thursday, Men’s basketball will be taking on Montana State, and before the game, Vandal Entertainment is throwing a tailgate to get fans excited and ready for the big game. From 4-6 p.m., students and fans can gather outside the ICCU arena for food, music and games before the basketball game begins at 6 p.m.
UI Opera
The Lionel Hampton School of Music and UI Theatre Department have joined forces to put on a unforgettable opera experience called “Die Fledermaus.” The show will be happening this Friday and Saturday from 7:30-9 p.m. in the Hartung Theater. Tickets are $10 for students, and more information about the show can be found here.
Vandal Athletics
Vandal Men’s Basketball will be playing against Montana State starting at 6 p.m. in the ICCU Arena. They will play again on Saturday against Montana at 2 p.m. in the ICCU Arena.
