Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, which begs the question: what will you do to celebrate with your significant other? Fancy dinner dates are great, sure, but maybe you’re on a strict budget this year, or perhaps you’re just bored of the typical restaurant outing. If so, here are some fun and budget-friendly date ideas for you and your partner!

  1. Build a Lego set together

Legos can be pricey sometimes, so split the price 50-50 with your partner if the budget is a problem! Pick a set of Lego flowers, some other creation, or you can each choose a set for the other and build them together. For another option, design custom Legos of each other and put them together while you snack on some sweet treats.

  1. Bake some Valentine’s Day-themed sweets

Speaking of sweet treats, make some of your own together: chocolate-covered strawberries, brownies with cute pink or red frosting, a heart-shaped cake or anything else you would like to make. These are great ways to spend time with your partner and partake in teamwork and quality time. Another bonus is that you get delicious treats out of it!

  1. Have a romance movie marathon

Romance movies are a staple of Valentine’s Day for both singles and couples. Write a list of romance movies you want to spend your night watching! Don’t forget to include some snacks for your movie marathon. Charcuterie boards, chocolates and other finger foods are great options!

  1. Cook a luxurious dinner together

Don’t want to go to a fancy restaurant, but still want mouthwatering food? Make it yourself with your partner! Cooking together is a great way to spend quality time with your significant other while learning some new skills in the kitchen.

  1. Have a game night

Movie nights are fun, but maybe you want something more stimulating—and competitive. Plan a game night with your special person! Board, card or video games are great choices, and you could even switch between each type for more variety. Friendly and loving competition is always an excellent way to change things up and have some laughs with your partner.
