As the semester picks up steam, it’s important to prioritize moments of rest and fun throughout your week to avoid getting overwhelmed. Check out these exciting activities and events happening on campus this week to get involved and have fun.
Book Club
The UI Library’s Hit the Books club is starting back up for the semester and there is plenty of room for new members. Students pick the books that are read and meet weekly over snacks and refreshments to discuss. Meetings are on Mondays from 1:15-2:20 p.m. or Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m. depending on individual schedules. Get Crafty
The MILL at the Library is hosting this month’s Make it at the MILL on Wednesday from 12:30 – 4 :30 p.m. for Intro to Sewing. Students who attend will be taught the basics of how to sew, all materials are provided, and the event is free for everyone.
Drag Bingo
This Thursday Vandal Entertainment, in collaboration with the UI LQBTQA office, is hosting Drag Bingo starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Pitman Center International Ballroom. Attendees can enjoy performances and play Bingo for the chance to win fun prizes!
Explore Outdoors
This week the Outdoor Program is hosting the Mountain Express Ski Bus which will take students to Lookout Pass for a fun day of hitting the slopes on Saturday. The cost is $72 for students and includes a lift pass. The cost is $20 for those only needing a ride to Lookout. Registration is in person in the Outdoor Program office, and space is limited so sign up soon.
The Climbing Center in the SRC is also hosting Free Rental Friday this Friday from noon – 9 p.m. in the SRC Climbing Center. Enjoy free climbing materials and have fun learning how to rock climb.
Vandal Athletics
Vandal Men’s Basketball will be playing this Thursday at 6 p.m. against Northen Arizona University in ICCU Arena. They will play again on Saturday at 2 p.m. against the University of Northern Colorado in ICCU Arena.
Vandal Men’s Tennis will be playing on Saturday against Oral Roberts University at 11 a.m. in the P1FCU Kibbie Dome.
