Happy Homecoming week Vandals! With both homecoming festivities and midterm exams happening this week, it’s a busy time for Vandal students. The UI community can celebrate Vandal pride and take a break from studying with these exciting activities and events happening on campus!
Homecoming
Homecoming week means so many events happening on campus for students to enjoy. The Homecoming football game is on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Serpentine leading to the Vandal Rally starts at 8 p.m. on Friday. The full schedule of homecoming festivities can be found here.
Indigenous People’s Day
Oct. 9 is Indigenous people’s day, and the UI campus is celebrating with a Tipi raising on the ISUB Plaza Lawn, and a keynote speaker at 5 p.m. in the ISUB Clearwater-Whitewater room. Speaker Arnold Thomas will be giving the address “Healing, Hope, Education: The Power of Indigenous Resiliency.”
French Film Festival
The Palouse French Film Festival is happening this Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Kenworthy. The event will be a showing of the film “Eiffel” and students with an ID get free admission.
Coming-out Carnival
Students can celebrate national Coming-out Day this Wednesday with a carnival happening from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the ISUB Plaza. The LGBTQA office is hosting this fun event where students can learn about supportive campus organizations, get free goodies and spend time with friends!
Women’s Center
The Women’s Center is hosting Lavender Lunch this Thursday from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. in Memorial Gym room 109. Attendees can enjoy a free lunch and conversation with friends!
Friday Crafternoon is happening this Friday at the Women’s Center from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. This week’s craft will be making caramel apples, and students can come to enjoy making a sweet fall treat!
Tap the Keg Brewfest
On Friday Oct. 13, the UI Alumni Association will be hosting this Oktoberfest themed Tap the Keg Brewfest from 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Dan O’Brien Track and Field complex. Attendees can enjoy tastings from local and regional beers, ciders and seltzers, along with food and live music. Tickets must be purchased in advance and can be found online.
Brett Young Concert
Students and the Moscow community can enjoy seeing country artist Brett Young in concert this Friday in the ICCU Arena starting at 5 p.m. Tickets cost $25 for students and can be purchased online.
