This Saturday September 30 at 2 p.m., Moscow Axe Throwing is hosting its first ever University Throwdown. This annual axe throwing tournament is open to all University of Idaho student organizations, Greek life, clubs and athletic teams. The tournament is free to attend and participate, and two representatives from each student organization are allowed to compete.
There will be a raffle for prizes like merch, gift certificates and much more! Champions of the tournament will win a free facility buyout for their organization, which can be used for up to 4 hours of axe throwing with as many as sixty people. The winners will also receive the crown jewel of the tournament, which will be a custom-made 1st place trophy that will be passed from winner to winner every year.
After operating his business in Moscow for about a year, owner Chris “The Axeman” Ihler has big plans and is excited to show UI students what Moscow Axe Throwing is all about.
“We want to be the place to be, and the thing to do,” Ihler said.
With more community events planned, like next week’s 1-year anniversary event on Oct. 7, Ihler is aiming to get his business directly involved with UI student life. His most recent venture: a brand-new restaurant and beer hall built into the basement of his currently existing business.
“An Americanized, but classic, German Beer Hall” is what Ihler describes the business’ newest addition to be.
Along with food and drink, patrons can expect live music, swing dance nights and much more. If your organization or club has questions or is interested in signing up for the University Throwdown, please contact Moscow Axe Throwing at (208)-563-3725 or [email protected], for general inquiry visit at Moscow Axe Throwing [The #1 Axe Throwing Venue in Moscow, ID].
