Nineteen men’s teams and four women’s teams competed in the University of Idaho Intramural Sports Pickleball Tournament on Feb. 25.
Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the U.S., and it shows with the number of teams that competed last weekend. Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) took first, and Beta took second in the men’s bracket. Gamma Phi had three teams competing in the tournament while Theta took the other spot. Two of the Gamma Phi teams took first and second place.
Most of the intramural sports are coming to an end this week, but 4-on-4 volleyball, 5-on-5 flag football, doubles table tennis, a three-point tournament and softball are coming up. Nate Altenhofen, and the rest of the intramural sports department, are looking to hold an axe throwing tournament later this semester as well.
