The Humane Society of the Palouse is holding a Soup and Pie Fundraiser on Feb. 27. The event will start at 11 a.m. and last until 1 p.m., and will be held at 1912 Center great room, at 412 E 3rd street in Moscow.
The event will be $10 per person and offer soup and pie from many volunteers and local businesses. Entire pies made by volunteers will also be available for purchase. Ingredient lists will be available to support those who have food allergies.
All proceeds go to the Humane Society of the Palouse for medical supplies, food, cleaning supplies and other accommodations for the animals sheltered there. Many local businesses are sponsoring this event as well.
P1FCU has covered all costs for the event to maximize revenue for this fundraiser. Businesses also sponsoring the event include; The Breakfast Club, Lodgepole, Moscow Alehouse, Paradise Grill and Café, Mikey’s Gyros and the Moscow Food Co-Op. Around 23 community volunteers will be bringing in pies for the event as well.
The Humane Society of the Palouse was founded in 1978 and is a no-kill, cruelty-free shelter.
Thanks to long-time board members, the Soup and Pie fundraiser has been a staple event for the Humane Society for around 20 years. It is one of their largest fundraisers of the year and one of the most popular in the community.
In 2022, the Humane Society of the Palouse took in around 431 animals. Many of these animals were runaways that were returned to their owners. Of these animals, 198 were runaways that were returned, and 230 of them were adopted.
The Humane Society also works very hard to help support animals and their owners, by having a donation-only pet supply pantry that offers pet food and supplies free of charge once a month. Last year the pet pantry helped over 1,600 pet owners in the Moscow area.
Besides housing animals and providing adoptions, the Humane Society also helps with other related pet issues, such as feral cat neutering, the Spay and Neutering assistance program and the barn buddy program, a service for farmers in need of a barn cat. This makes the Humane Society a massive resource for pet owners all around Moscow.
If you are in the mood for some pie or soup, be sure to stop by the upcoming Soup and Pie Fundraiser to support a good cause.
