After a successful senior night against Utah Tech, the women’s swim team capped off their regular season at Washington State University. The Vandals finished the season 5-5, going 2/4 in Western Athletic Conference competition. Their final conference meet was a 155.5-137.5 victory over Utah Tech, but their season closer was a 172-92 loss to their rival across the border.

Senior back/fly Kaling Phung was the highest individual placer for the Vandals with 10 points. She placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.07 seconds, second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:06.73 and second in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 59.46 seconds.

The highest placer in the Women’s 400-yard individual medley was junior free/IM Zoe Froh with her fourth-place time 4:32.26. She placed second in the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:08.23. 

Landing at fourth place in the 200-Yard Freestyle, with a time of 1:51.17 was senior fly/free Rylie Jones.  

Senior Breast/IM Holly Keir took fourth place in the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:05.67.

Husaby’s time of 2:10.44 in the 200-yard butterfly landed her in third place. She also tied for second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.23 seconds. 

Idaho had four players in the top five of the 50-Yard Freestyle with Haskins being the highest at second with a time of 23.73 seconds. She also placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.41 seconds.  

Freshman IM/Breaststroke Grace Ruble took second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:22.44 finals time.

Idaho’s highest placing team in the 400-yard freestyle relay was the second-place team of Jones, freshman free Maddy Butler, freshman fly/free Bethany Rahn and Haskins with a time of 3:32.45. 

The Vandals will look to rebound from their Pac-12 loss when they take on seven WAC teams at the WAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Feb. 22-25.
