A planned power outage will blanket campus Wednesday morning, delaying classes in many buildings, according to an email sent by Brian Foisy, the vice president of finance and administration, Tuesday night.
The outage is needed in order to repair a switch controlling power on the west side of campus, which went out Tuesday afternoon. The repairs are slotted to begin around 7:30 a.m.
The outage is expected to impact several buildings on campus, including:
- Facilities complex
- ICCU Arena
- Kibbie Dome
- Library
- Memorial Gym
- PEB and the Swim Center
- Wood Chip Storage Facility
- Dan O’Brian Track and Field Office
- South Campus Chiller Plant
Those with classes in these buildings before noon should look for further communication from faculty about class attendance and participation. Employees who work in these buildings will have a delayed start to the workday, which will begin at noon, aside from essential personnel.
