Don’t let the cold temperatures and gloomy weather get you down, there’s so many exciting events and activities happening to keep Vandals busy this week. From musical entertainment to opportunities to advance your career, there’s something for everyone on campus this week.
Music and Comedy
Experience the talents of a renowned string group this Thursday with the Telegraph Quartet recital from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. in the Admin Building Auditorium. The cost is $10 for students and $25 for general admission. More information can be found and tickets can be purchased here.
On Friday, the campus community can enjoy a Comedy and Music Talent show that supports the National Association for Musical Educators. The event features Lionel Hampton School of Music students and staff and is happening from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the Haddock Performance Hall. The cost is $5 at the door.
Learn from Multi-talented Speaker
Friday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Forge Theater, the University of Idaho community can learn from musician, writer and record company executive Nabil Ayers. The discussion is titled, “The Intersection Between Music, Race and Family,” and is sponsored by both the Lionel Hampton School of Music and the Africana Studies program. Attendance is free.
Career Readiness
For students looking to update their LinkedIn or Handshake profile photos to make a great impression on potential employers, free professional photos are being offered in the ISUB ASUI Vandal Lounge. Tuesday to Thursday from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. students can have their photo taken by a professional for free.
If students are in need of professional attire for job interviews, the upcoming career fair or other opportunities, free outfits are being offered by Joe’s Closet in the ISUB ASUI Vandal Lounge. Tuesday to Thursday from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. students can browse a selection of business outfits to take for free and keep to have for any situations where professional attire is appropriate.
On Wednesday, Career Services is providing a informative session called Future You: Lands a Paid Internship from 12:30-1:15 p.m. in ISUB room 329 and online. More information and the link to participate online can be found here.
Vandal Athletics
On Thursday, Vandal Men’s Basketball is competing against Weber State University at 6 p.m. in the ICCU Arena. Men’s Basketball is facing off against Idaho State in a rivalry game at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the ICCU Arena.
Men’s Tennis is playing against Seattle University this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the Kibbie Dome.
