For anyone craving takeout but looking for a cheaper version, you can make at home, this 20 min teriyaki chicken is the perfect fix. Easy to make with a few basic ingredients, this dish goes well with rice and steamed broccoli or any other sides you choose!
Ingredients:
- 2 chicken breasts (diced into small pieces)
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons ginger (fresh or dried)
Directions:
1. Sauté diced chicken on the stovetop until fully cooked
2. While chicken cooks, whisk together soy sauce, water, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic, cornstarch and ginger in a separate bowl
3. Once the chicken is done, add the sauce mixture to the pan and cover, bring to a simmer and keep on medium for 5 minutes
4. Serve over rice and enjoy!
