Moscow Police department sent out communications Friday evening to clarify the facts of the King Road case.
The police clarified that Kaylee GonCalves and Madison Mogen were seen at the Corner Club from 10 p.m.-1:30 a.m. The two girls were then seen on camera at GrubTruck, from where they traveled via Uber to their residence at approximately 1:45 a.m.
Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle were seen at the Sigma Chi fraternity house that evening, and were believed to have returned to the King Road house by 1:45 a.m. Kernoodle lived at the house, while Chapin was visiting. The two roommates were also in residence that night.
The police arrived on scene at 11:58 a.m., responding to a 911 call from an unknown individual reporting an unconscious person. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the four students dead in the residence.
The police also verified that autopsies were completed Thursday, where the Latah County Coroner confirmed the identities of the victims as well as the cause of death to be by stabbing. The coroner also stated that the victims were most likely asleep, with no signs of sexual assault on the bodies.
Authorities report that they do not believe the two roommates or the man in the GrubTruck security video are involved in the crime. They also report that the victims show no signs of being gagged and tied, despite online speculation saying otherwise.
The police are investigating the contents of three dumpsters located on King Road, as well as speaking with local businesses to determine if a fixed-blade knife has recently been purchased.
