Midterms are upon us, and while this can mean heightened stress levels and anxiety over tests, don’t forget to celebrate making it halfway through the semester as well. This week there are so many opportunities for students to relax and take their minds off exams with fun events and activities on campus.
Midterm De-stress
On Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., students can join Vandal Entertainment for “Rage Against Midterms,” a rage room in the ISUB plaza. Students feeling overwhelmed by exams can write their frustration out on plates and dishware and then smash them to bits, hopefully relieving some tension and making everyone who participates feel a little bit better.
ASUI will also be bolstering midterm spirits with “Midterm Munchies,” Monday through Wednesday in the ISUB second floor. Students can grab free snacks and relax from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on these days.
National Coming Out Day Celebrations
In honor of National Coming Out Day, this Tuesday, students can swing by the ISUB plaza from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the National Coming Out Day Carnival. Attendees can enjoy music, free swag and find information about LQBTQ+ organizations on campus and in Moscow.
Rock the Vote
For anyone who has not yet registered to vote, this Tuesday, Vandal Entertainment and the Department of Student Involvement are putting on “Rock the Vote” starting at 5 p.m. on the Tower Lawn. There will be live music from a local band ‘Mother Yeti’ and opportunities to register to vote and learn more about different on campus opportunities.
Vandal Sports
Women’s Soccer has a big weekend ahead with two games at home for Vandal fans to enjoy. They will be playing Portland State at 6 p.m. on Friday in the Kibbie Dome. Followed by a face off against Sacramento State at noon in the Kibbie Dome.
Latinx Heritage Month Keynote
Thursday at 5 p.m. in the Pitman Center Ballroom, poet and performance artist Yosimar Reyes will be speaking in honor of Latinx heritage month. Anyone can attend this address, which in conjunction with the LGBTQA Office, will be exploring the necessity of telling stories from a place of empowerment.
