University of Idaho’s largest community gaming event, Vandal Gaming Con, is happening this Saturday, Oct. 8. The event will include scholarship giveaways, videogame tournaments, arcade games and food.
Previously known as Vandal Overnight, the convention has brought in 800 attendees in the past. This year, one lucky attendee will be walking away with a $1,000 UI scholarship.
Everything at the event will be free. Open to high schoolers, college students, community members and videogame lovers in general, this event will take place on the second floor of the Bruce Pitman Center.
There will be a Super Smash Bros. tournament, a cosplay contest, trivia and a Wii bowling contest with prizes. For students looking for a new experience, there will be classic arcade games, miniature painting, board games, virtual reality and booths.
Attendees are welcome to bring their own games to play. More information about the event can be found here.
