After a 2-0 victory on the road against Chicago State, the Vandals came home to take on the Louisiana Lafayette Ragin Cajuns.
The Vandals got off to a slow start as they were out possessed and out shot by the Cajuns, making the score at the end of the half 0-0. The halftime speech must have worked as the Vandals came out and scored inside the first three minutes of the second half. Junior forward Jadyn Hanks took a pass from junior forward Maddy Lasher, twisted the goalkeeper around and slid the ball into the left corner to put the Vandals up 1-0.
Ten minutes later, sophomore Midfielder Jayd Sprague got her head on a cross from graduate student Savannah Foster and scored her first goal in a Vandal uniform, getting an insurance goal for the Vandals. Twenty minutes later, Sprauge found sophomore Annika Farley right in front of the 6-yard box. Farley stuck out her foot and got it past the goalkeeper to extend the lead to 3-0, scoring her first goal of her Vandal career.
The Vandals dominated the whole second half, outshooting the Ragin Cajuns eight to one. Five of those eight were targeted, and three hit the back of the net.
Idaho may have started slow, but they ended up putting on a show, beating Louisiana 3-0 to get their fourth victory of the year. The win put their record to 4-1-1.
