Women’s soccer head coach Jeremy Clevenger has added five transfers to the roster for next season.
“This is a very talented group of players. I think they will have a positive impact on our program and make us a better team,” Clevenger said. “We look forward to them contributing right away.”
Midfielder Jayd Sprague transfers from the University of San Francisco, where she went to Laguna Beach High School. She played in 21 games, starting in 17.
Forward Kylie Hummel comes to Idaho from St. Mary’s University, where she played in three games. While attending Monte Vista High School in Danville, California, where was invited to participate in the US Girls National Team Soccer Camp in 2017.
Midfielder Annika Farley played nine games for the University of Portland last season, where she started in three. She is from Ridgefield, Washington, where she attended Ridgefield High School.
Forward Kyla Tucker rounds out the D1 transfers, where she played in 13 games at Temple last season, starting in one. She is from Bayfield, Colorado, where she attended Centaurus High School.
Defender Kenzie Burks comes to Moscow from Western Washington University. She started in 47 of the 55 games for the Vikings. She received honorable mention All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference as a freshman, unanimous All-GNAC first team as a sophomore and first team selection for All-West Regional honors as a sophomore.
Burks also played the most minutes on the team with 1,896 and led the team in assists with seven last season. She is from Tacoma, Washington, where she attended Stadium High School.
The Vandals will host Calgary in an exhibition game on Aug. 8. Their first home game of the regular season will be against the University of Nevada on Aug. 28 in the Kibbie Dome.
