Hosted by both Vandal Entertainment and the Sustainability Center, the Earth Jam event was a way to educate University of Idaho students on sustainability. Taking center stage at the ISUB plaza Wednesday, this is the first time that both organizations have hosted this event.
“It’s just a celebration of Earth Day and we were fortunate enough to bring in a bunch of community organizations and partners and campus organizations to table,” Reef Diego, sustainability center marketing and graphic design coordinator, said. “Then have students kind of walk by and have fun… just a celebration of Earth Day.”
Some of the organizations that participated were the Moscow Co-Op, Moscow Farmers Market and the Citizens’ Climate Lobby.
Mac Cantrell, who is a volunteer for CCL, spoke to students about climate change and climate action.
“Our group, we really work to help people become more educated about meaningful climate action and to work with our legislators, especially in the federal level, to get them to enact more powerful climate action legislation,” Cantrell said.
