Before I joined ASUI, I had no clue what this confusing and hard to remember acronym was. ASUI stands for the Associated Students of the University of Idaho. We are your student government on campus. We advocate for students’ best interests to the University leadership, the State Board of Education and the State Legislature.
The reason you should vote in our upcoming elections is simple: we represent your voice. In this spring’s election, students will be voting for the new student body President and Vice President, along with six Student Senate seats. ASUI is made up of a Senate Body, one senator for roughly every 650 students and an executive body, the President’s Cabinet.
These members of ASUI host, plan and execute various events on campus. A few events that have been hosted by ASUI this year include free t-shirts on the first day of classes, COVID-19 testing advocacy, sustainability education, a student-led and produced podcast and various panel events to elevate voices from LatinX, LGBTQIA+ and Black and African American communities.
These projects are crucial to the success and involvement of various student groups on campus. Whether you know it or not, ASUI’s functions greatly affect your student experience.
Voting begins on April 11th and ends on April 13th. An email will be sent to your VandalMail each day until you vote. It is super quick and easy to vote on your phone or your computer! Candidate information, photos, and goals are listed directly on the ballot to allow you to make the most educated vote.
Email [email protected] for any questions or concerns! Vandals Vote!
