Weekly update: 2020’s record numbers the new norm in 2022

Feb. 4’s update with COVID-19 statistics

Idaho’s 2020 record of new cases in one day was on Dec. 9 with 2,298 cases, according to Idaho’s COVID-19 page. 2022 set a new record with 4,537 cases on Jan. 19. 

This Friday, Feb. 4, Idaho saw 2,428 new cases. From Jan. 31 – Feb. 4, each day has seen over 2,000 new cases.

Several days in January have seen over 3,000 cases in a day and a few surpassed 4,000, easily beating records set in the first year of the pandemic.

Fully vaccinated 5+: 46,961 (45%)

Fully vaccinated with a booster: 20,564

Deaths: 269
