Weekly update: COVID-19 cases back on the rise

Jan. 28’s update with COVID-19 statistics

The state of the pandemic has continued to worsen this week. Last week saw 16,422 new cases statewide while this past week has seen 19,983. Available ICU beds have gone down from 36 last Friday to 17. 

The Argonaut will continue with weekly updates on COVID-19 case numbers, vaccinations and more on both the district and state levels.

Public Health – Idaho North Central District

Data used is from Public Health District 2. The local district consists of Latah, Clearwater, Idaho, Lewis and Nez Perce counties. Updated Jan. 28 at 3 p.m.

Cases this week (Jan. 22-28): 1,239

Fully vaccinated 5+: 46,809 (44%)

Fully vaccinated with a booster: 19,995

Deaths: 258
