The University of Idaho will continue to offer all students vaccine incentives, according to an email from Dean of Students and Vice Provost for Student Affairs Blaine Eckles. This includes a digital $50 gift card towards Idaho Eats or the VandalStore for every individual who shows proof of vaccination.
Students that already received one of the $50 gift cards for being vaccinated last semester are not eligible for another $50. However, they are still eligible for the scholarship drawing.
Similar to last semester’s incentives, full-time students that register for the digital $50 will also be put into a drawing where seven students will win $1,000 towards tuition.
Students do not need to have received their booster to be eligible for the tuition drawing or digital $50 gift card.
The email highlights that “U of I is strongly recommending, but not requiring, that students receive a vaccination.”
The first round of gift cards will be distributed the week of Jan. 31. Students can submit their vaccine verification online.
