Former University of Idaho women’s basketball player Lizzy Klinker signed on to the German pro basketball team Falcons Bad Homburger TG in July.
Klinker played as a guard for the Vandals for two seasons, starting in 2018. During that time the Vandals had 44 wins, making it all the way to the Big Sky semifinals in 2018. They fell to Portland State, and entered into the Big Sky Championship game in 2020 against Montana State before the match was canceled due to COVID-19.
Klinker averaged a career-high 7.8 rebounds per game in the 2018-19 season, and averaged a career-high of 12.8 points per game in the next season.
Klinker was named on the Big Sky All-Conference Third Team in 2020, was Idaho’s Woman of the Year Nominee in 2020 and was the female student-athlete representative of Big Sky at the 2020 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum.
In both seasons, Klinker played alongside her sister, Natalie Klinker, adding a family element to the team’s culture. In January of 2019, the Klinker sisters both earned double-doubles in the winning match against University of Montana, 52-51.
Klinker graduated UI in 2020 with a major in Agricultural Economics and afterwards worked in the Montana governor’s office, according to MontanaSports.com.
