University of Idaho Associate Athletic Director Tim Mooney is listed as a finalist for an athletic director position at University of Alaska Fairbanks, according to a press release from the Alaskan university. 

Mooney, who has been at UI since April of 2008, currently oversees annual giving, endowments, facility fundraising, marketing, sponsorships, ticket sales and media relations for the university athletics department, according to his bio

Before taking the position at UI, Mooney was at Washington State University where he served as head baseball coach and was later the associate director of athletic development. He has experience as a professor and baseball coach from an earlier career at the College of Idaho, which ended in 2000 when he joined WSU’s staff.  

Mooney has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education from Idaho, with an emphasis in exercise science, according to his bio. 

The other three finalists for the Alaska position are Brock Anundson, the assistant director of athletics at Black Hills State University, Steve Macy, the senior associate athletic director for external relations at the University of Memphis and Nick Bursik, the director of athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. 

Mooney will visit the UAF campus Wednesday for face-to-face interviews and a public forum, according to the press release.
