Feeling bored and are wondering what things are going on this week? Stay up to date on current events and view things to attend in your free time. Here are the best happenings this week. Remember, when going out to in-person events, wear a mask and social distance to keep yourself and others safe.   

Black History Month Library Display: The Future of Black History  

Time: Any 

Date: Mar. 1Mar. 10 

Place: University of Idaho Library  

Price: Free  

At the university’s on-campus library, see what the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Black Student Union have been up to. Partnering with the library, these associations have set up a display to honor Black History Month. Running through the first few weeks in March, there is plenty of time to stop by and view the display. Become educated on Black history and learn about other’s past.  

ASUI Blood Drive  

Time: 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

Date: Mar. 2  

Place: Idaho Student Union Building  

Price: Free  

Donating blood is a civic duty that will help saves lives. This week ASUI is hosting a blood drive that is available to anyone in the community. Along with donations, free COVID-19 antibody testing will be offered to people who give blood. Do your part and give back to the community and those in need.  

The Body Project  

Time: 5:30—6 p.m.  

Date: Mar. 2  

Place: Online event  

Price: Free  

Being self-compassionate is challenging and there are aspects about our bodies that we may not like. At the body project, the four-week series will give people the resources to love their bodies, challenge stigmas and become an advocate for themselves. Prioritize self-care and learn about positive self-image.

Thirsty Thursday Trivia with Latah County Boosters  

Time: 5:30—6:30 p.m. 

Date: Mar. 4 

Place: Online event  

Price: Free  

Show off your skills in trivia and random knowledge with Latah County Boosters. During the event, questions asked will include topics on March Madness, Vandal Athletics and St. Patrick’s Day. Grab a snack, drink and get comfortable with other alumni.

Movie and Pizza Night  

Time: 5:30—8 p.m.  

Date: Mar. 4 

Place: Borah Theater Bruce Pitman Center 

Price: Free  

Sit down, grab a slice of pizza and watch “Crazy Rich Asians” with others. Shown at the Borah theater in the Pitman Center, there will be plenty of space to social distance and enjoy the screening.  

Carinhoso Live  

Time: 6:30—9 p.m.  

Date: Mar. 6 

Place: Online event  

Price: Free  

Getting back to performing, Carinhoso will perform for their first time in 2021. They will play songs from Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina live online. Streamed over Facebook Live, it is the perfect performance to dance like no one is watching.
