Feeling bored and wondering what things are going on this week? Stay up to date on current events and view things to attend in your free time. Here are the best happenings this week. Remember, when going out to in-person events, wear a mask and social distance to keep yourself and others safe.  

Black History Month Library Display: The Future of Black History   

Time: Any  

Date: Feb. 22—28  

Place: University of Idaho Library   

Price: Free   

Head over to the on-campus library to see what the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Black Student Union have been up to. Partnering with the library these associations have set up a display to honor Black History Month. Running through the first few weeks in March, there is plenty of time to stop by and view the display. Appreciate Black History Month and stay educated on other’s past.  

“I Love my Body Because” Yard Sign Campaign   

Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.  

Date: Feb. 23  

Place: Administration Lawn  

Price: Free   

To promote body positivity, Vandal Health Education has made an event to brace what’s yours. On the Admin Lawn, there will be signs and markers available for people to make posters about what is special to them. Following the phrase “I love my body because,” write what makes your body special to you.  

Drop-in Mindfulness with Jamie Derrick  

Time: 12—12:20 p.m.  

Date: Feb 24  

Place: Online Event   

Price: Free   

Feeling stressed and need a space to be able to wind down and relax? Join the 20-minute mindfulness practice and ground yourself before returning to a demanding week. The drop-in is available to anyone, and no meditation experience is necessary. Embark on a mindful journey and connect with your body.

Hot Cocoa with Vandal Entertainment   

Time: 12—2 p.m.  

Date: Feb. 25  

Place: ISUB Plaza   

Price: Free   

When the weather outside is frightful, there is no better time than to enjoy a nice, hot cup of cocoa. In the ISUB Plaza, Vandal Entertainment will be handing out old fashioned hot chocolate to anyone that stops by. Warm-up for a bit before returning to the ice and snow and enjoy a sweet cup of cocoa.

Time: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

Date: Feb. 26  

Place: Student Recreation Center   

Price: Free   

Hang out with Vandal Health Education for a bit, enjoy treats and find a table to sit at. At this event, people will learn how to focus on body positivity, strengthen relationships and begin to start a healthy relationship with food and your body. We all need a way to foster self-love, so take the steps to accept your body no matter what size.
