Students who are enrolled in spring 2021 semester are eligible to receive COVID-19 relief money. These funds are provided by Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds to help with COVID-19 related costs and expenses, according to an email sent to students, faculty and staff today.
Though the timeline of releasing these funds is still being determined, the money will be expedited similarly to spring 2020 CARES act, which dispersed $513 to eligible students last spring, the email stated.
To be able to receive these finds, students are to have a FAFSA on file, and are enrolled during the spring 2021 academic semester the University of Idaho, the email stated.
The university encourages students to set up direct deposit to receive funds faster, but for those who do not have a bank account set up, checks will be distributed through the mail.
As further details are finalized, students will be notified by email of eligibility and will be asked to confirm if direct deposit information is correct.
