The first two games of the 2020-2021 Idaho women’s basketball season have been canceled due to the number of available players on the rosters.
The email from University of Idaho Athletics stated that the games against Lewis-Clark State College on Nov. 25 and Oregon State on Nov. 29 were canceled “due to limited roster numbers in conjunction with COVID-19 testing protocols.”
No information on which teams were impacted or the number of COVID-19 cases was provided.
“The athletic department will not be disclosing any individual or team results. All test results and subsequent contract tracing information will be reported to Idaho Public Health to be reported from there,” Sports Information Director Wyaat Hall said.
The games will not be rescheduled. The new season opener for women’s basketball is slated for Dec. 3 against Sacramento State in Memorial Gym.
