Within the past two weeks, University of Idaho re-tested 5,256 students taking in-person classes at the Moscow campus for COVID-19. Of these students, 2.2% tested positive for COVID-19, according to an email sent to students, faculty and staff.
On October 5, UI announced 59 students were in isolation and 14 Greek Life chapters were in quarantine. As of today, only 11 students are in isolation and one chapter is in quarantine. However, the Idaho Student Union Building Food Court is closed for disinfection today due to a positive case.
The Grid, Papa John’s, Joe’s Cheesy Grill and The Hub are still open. The Food Court is expected to reopen tomorrow.
Classes returned to their pre-arranged formats today. Any students taking in-person classes in Moscow who did not participate in the re-test are ineligible to attend class in person until they test negative for COVID-19.
Those who prefer to finish the semester online must email [email protected] to clarify this. Otherwise, a hold may be placed on their student account, preventing them from registering for spring semester classes.
Information regarding the spring semester calendar, including COVID-19 testing expectations, will be communicated soon, the email stated. No expected date for this communication was provided.
