July 27, 1994
The Kibbie Dome got a revamped sound system in 1994. The old sound system had been there since 1976 and the new one was said to have better audio quality. This new sound system had been planned for roughly five years and was said to cost around $500,000.
July 24, 1996
The University of Idaho Soccer Club had a good streak back in 1996. This article talks about some of the best plays, including a hat trick and various assists.
July 30, 1997
Instead of having students swipe their Vandal Cards into football games, students had to get tickets to enter games for the 1997 season. The goals were to allow students to reserve seats in the general admission section and to increase student awareness of games. According to Mike Hogan, UI’s director of marketing for the athletic department at the time, about half of students who didn’t go to games didn’t know there was a game going on.
July 25, 2001
Free parking on the UI campus was eliminated in 2001 when the Moscow City Council granted permission for UI to charge for street parking. This change was an effort to help students in Greek houses and residence halls get parking spots. This article described the changes and the prices for permits at the time.
