UI does not publish the all positive test results or keep a running total of all confirmed COVID-19 cases. Instead, it only publishes currently infectious COVID-19 cases each week.

Total tests completed: 22,856
Percent positive test results (total): 2.77%
Percent positive test results (Dec. 5 to Dec. 11): 3.01%
University of Idaho began reporting COVID-19 cases found through Moscow-based testing of employees and students on Aug. 14.
We report UI-related COVID-19 case numbers based on the numbers listed on the UI COVID-19 website. These cases once per week, so our data for UI will only change once per week unless otherwise noted. The next update will be posted Dec. 21, according to the website.
“This is not necessarily inclusive of all positive cases in people associated with (UI),” the website stated. “The numbers below are a snap shot update for the time period described, and are now reported using the Idaho Public Health guidelines, but may not match the official reporting of Idaho Public Health. In an effort to produce timely reporting, these numbers may include some people who were known to previously be positive and have already completed their required quarantine period and are no longer infectious. These people are not included in the public health reporting.”
The numbers reported by UI include UI employees and students but do not reflect the number of swabs collected, the total number of individual people tested or the number of infectious cases, according to the website.
